“Wonderful texture and taste!”

Laura Mitchell Marketing Manager
5/5

“Amazing product and feels very high-end! I’m usually quite picky with fragrances that don’t smell ‘synthetic’, but this one’s taste was subtle yet yummy. It also has the perfect glide and was not sticky or greasy, which I really appreciate! super recommended”

Samantha Green Graphic Designer

“What really sets this lubricant apart from the others is its ingredients. I love that it has vaginal PH-safe components. I have sensitive skin, and I've had issues with other products in the past, but this one is soothing and pleasant.”

Megan Davis Product Manager

Hydrating Lubricants Formulated With Your Wellness in Mind

Some personal lubricants contain ingredients that can disrupt your body’s natural balance or cause irritation. Additives like glycerin, sugars, and parabens can increase the risk of yeast infections or hormonal interference.

We avoid chemicals such as nonoxynol-9, propylene glycol, and chlorhexidine, which may irritate sensitive tissue and damage healthy bacteria. Petroleum-based oils and artificial fragrances can also cause reactions and even weaken condoms, making them unsafe for regular use.

Every lubricant ingredient La Nua uses was chosen for a specific purpose, all of which are body-safe and hypoallergenic.

La Nua Lubricant FAQ

La Nua's lubricants and sex toy cleaners are crafted with a proprietary blend of clean, natural, and expertly formulated ingredients, ensuring safety, effectiveness, and transparency. Our products are free from harmful chemicals like parabens, artificial fragrances, and alcohol. We prioritize wellness and pleasure by creating formulas that are gentle, nourishing, and designed to support your overall health so you can feel confident in what you’re using.

Absolutely. All of La Nua’s lubricants, including our flavored lubes, are compatible with condoms, including latex, and our water-based lubes are compatible with silicone sex toys. They’re formulated for sensitive skin and easy to clean, making them ideal for everyday use.

Our silicone lubricant is crafted with high-quality, skin-safe silicone polymers that provide a silky, ultra-long-lasting glide. The unique viscosity is neither too gel-like nor too watery, making it the perfect universal lubricant. Unlike other silicone lubricants, La Nua’s lube is free from fillers, parabens, and additives, ensuring a pure, irritant-free experience that’s safe for use on glass, metal, and most non-silicone toys.

No. We understand that some flavored lubes contain sweeteners, dyes, and less desirable ingredients, such as glycerin and phthalates. This is why we prioritize using only natural flavors in our flavored lubes. Avoiding artificial additives is a no-brainer when it comes to making a sexual health product.

Our flavored lubes are made with natural and food-grade ingredients, specifically designed for oral pleasure. They taste great and are safe to swallow in small amounts, setting them apart from conventional, artificial-flavor options that may contain less desirable ingredients.

If you have sensitive skin, it’s always a good idea to do a patch test first. Apply a small amount of the product to an inconspicuous area of your skin and wait 24 hours to see if any irritation occurs. If there’s no reaction, start with a tiny amount applied externally before using larger quantities or trying it internally. At La Nua, our products are crafted with gentle, natural ingredients, such as Aloe Vera, to nourish and soothe sensitive skin. We carefully avoid common irritants, allowing you to enjoy your pleasure with confidence and peace of mind.

The normal vaginal pH range is approximately 3.5 to 5.0. All of La Nua’s water-based lubricants are pH-balanced, with a range of roughly 4-4.5. Our silicone lubricant does not contain any water; therefore, it is pH neutral.

One downside of a generally great product is that silicone-based lubricants can stain sheets and clothing if not used carefully. If you’re concerned about easy clean-up, we suggest sticking with water-based lubes, which are the easiest to wash off.

Yes! Our silicone lubricant is perfect for water activities because it won’t wash away easily, unlike water-based lubes, which may need reapplication in wet environments.

General Lubricants FAQ

Glycerin is commonly used as a base in personal lubricants, but has been known to affect the vaginal biome because it can irritate or damage the vaginal and rectal epithelial cells. This irritation may compromise the mucosal barrier and potentially increase the risk of transmitting STIs such as herpes and HIV.

Water-based lubes are perfect for everyday versatility. They are easy to clean, compatible with condoms and most sex toys, and ideal for sensitive skin. Silicone lubricant, on the other hand, offers longer-lasting, ultra-slick performance for water play, massage, or extended sessions. Both are free from harmful chemicals, but each is tailored for different needs and intimate experiences.

Gynecologists generally recommend using water-based or silicone-based lubricants because they are safe for sensitive skin, compatible with condoms and sex toys, and less likely to cause irritation or infections. La Nua’s products, for example, are all formulated with body-safe ingredients and designed to support vaginal health while providing adequate, comfortable lubrication.

Using baby oil as a lubricant isn’t recommended because it’s not designed for internal use and can cause irritation or infections. Plus, most baby oils are petroleum-based, which can break down latex condoms, increasing the risk of breakage and making it unsafe for protected sex. If you have more questions about this, check out our blog post explaining what can be used as lube.

Many stigmas about lubricants stem from outdated beliefs that they are unnecessary or simply a problem with natural lubrication. Historically, cultural taboos around sexuality and a lack of education have also contributed to misconceptions.

However, scientific research shows that lubricants can enhance comfort, reduce pain, and prevent tissue damage during sex. For example, a study published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine indicates that using lubricants significantly decreases the risk of microtears and irritation, promoting healthier and more pleasurable experiences.

Therefore, embracing lubricants as a regular part of intimacy is scientifically supported and promotes healthier sexual health.

Absolutely. Using lubricant is a standard, healthy practice that can reduce friction, prevent discomfort, and decrease the chance of injury for both partners. The American Sexual Health Association recommends using lubricants to improve comfort and safety during sex, especially for women experiencing vaginal dryness or with medical conditions that reduce natural lubrication. It’s a sign of good sexual health to communicate openly with your partner about your needs and to use lubricant as a way to enhance pleasure and protect your body.

While it may seem convenient to use saliva or household oils, these alternatives are not generally recommended for sexual activity. Cooking oils like coconut or olive oil, while natural, have been known to degrade latex condoms, increasing the risk of breakage. Oils are generally known to trap bacteria and fungi, leading to infections and irritation, and are difficult to clean thoroughly, which may potentially cause long-term issues.

Using a dedicated personal lubricant like La Nua is healthier because it is specially designed to be gentle and safe for your body's sensitive tissues. Unlike saliva, which can contain bacteria and enzymes that may cause irritation or infections, our lubricants are carefully formulated with natural, body-safe ingredients and undergo rigorous testing to support both vaginal and oral health, helping you enjoy intimacy with confidence and safety.

Open communication about incorporating lubricant in your sex life fosters understanding, reduces shame, and enhances intimacy. Discussing your needs and preferences can remove the taboo often attached to sexual wellness products. Studies in The Journal of Sex Research reveal that couples who openly communicate about their sexual needs and boundaries experience greater satisfaction and emotional intimacy. Normalizing lubricant use as a part of sexual health empowers both partners to feel comfortable and confident, leading to healthier, more pleasurable experiences.

Yes. Research published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine consistently supports that lubricants reduce friction, microtears, and discomfort, which helps prevent infections and tissue damage. Using lubricant is thus backed by science as a way to improve safety, comfort, and overall sexual satisfaction. Here are 8 ways that you can benefit from using lube.

Start by sharing trusted articles, scientific studies, and resources from reputable organizations like the American Sexual Health Association. Having honest conversations about your needs and concerns promotes mutual understanding and reduces stigma. Remember, incorporating lubricant isn't a sign of dysfunction; it’s a proactive step for better health, comfort, and pleasure supported by extensive research and clinical guidelines.
